Shed all that STUFF and come with me into the woods ; into the night ; into the sunny glade.
YouTube @mcalistairhood4721
Bivouac, outdoor swim, walk. or run ; try going barefoot, try food from the land ; listen, scent and feel.
Discover the quiet and gentle art of blending with the natural world on your doorstep and slightly further afield.
This course is not about bushcraft nor survival (although some of these will be touched upon). It is about YOU and your refamiliarisation with day and nighttime outdoor space ; it is about your access to the outdoor world (even that which is “private” !
It is about gently revealing and reactivating suppressed or deactivated human functionality.
With a military history better than Bear Grylls, 7 years of feral living, and the aesthetic of a full-time artist, who better to look after you ?
These courses are tailored to YOUR needs. Typically a weekend course will cost £250.
Or what about coming with me into the nearby wilderness, year round ? Experience the seasons.£1150 gets you ten overnight forays (with a day either side) into the countryside throughout the year. Discounts for groups are available.

Hi Andrew. I’m not sure if you remember but we were briefly in Wordwatchers together about 10 years ago? Anyway, it’s strange that I should see your post this morning since I’m very rarely on FB. I’m about to start an MRes at the Cabot Institute for the Environment at Bristol University which I’m hoping will become a PhD. I’ll be one of the few non-scientists looking at ways to tackle climate change - my research will be focused on our relationship with trees and woodland and how it’s represented (and could be represented) in writing and storytelling. How I got to this is a story of my own I won’t go into here - it probably needs tea and cake I’m happy to provide at some point. I would love to talk to you and this is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been wanting to do. In fact tbh, I was already thinking about contacting you at some point to see if you’d consider doing something like this. (Weird huh?!). Anyway, I’d love to be a guinea pig if that would be possible.
Let me know what you think.
Hope all good with you. Mel ߙ
